Children Delight In Dragon’s Den Pattie Experience

As part of the firm’s community commitment; Birmingham-based Cleone Foods, who produce the chilled pattie brand leader, Island Delight, undertook a student mentoring session before getting the children involved in a spot of pattie cooking.

Said Wade:

“In October and as part of our BITC commitment to provide pupil mentoring, whereby we support local schoolchildren with reading and mentoring sessions as part of lessons, we invited them to join us for a factory tour of Cleone Foods, so that they could see first-hand how we create our Island Delight patties.

“The event was so successful that we wanted to see what more we could do to provide educational support from a business perspective, and our idea of a spot of pattie creativity definitely inspired their culinary imaginations, with peas, sweet corn and tomatoes proving very popular.”

Creating unique flavours and pattie creations, the children were also able to sit and talk with Wade, who was delighted to share his business acumen to encourage the budding young entrepreneurs.

Providing the oven and ample Island Delight pattie pastry for the morning’s activity, following his mentoring session with the pupils, Wade then judged the ‘Dragons Den’ style cook-off, personally sampling each and every pattie creation before giving each child a souvenir pen to remind them of their Dragon’s Den experience.
