Island Delight for Midlands Co-op
Birmingham-based Cleone Foods Ltd has struck a major distribution deal with Midlands Co-op to sell its Island Delight Caribbean patties in stores across the region.
The deal strengthens the company's distribution network in the Midlands, bringing Island Delight Caribbean patties to 60 new retail stores.
It also reinforces Island Delight's position as the UK's number one Caribbean pattie brand with a UK market share of over 55%.
Cleone Foods, celebrating its 18th birthday this year, has a turnover of £2.1 million and currently manufactures 120,000 Caribbean patties every week at its facility in Hockley.
Patties are at the heart of traditional Caribbean cuisine and part of every day life across the islands; from Jamaica to Antigua. Island Delight patties are made using a traditional Caribbean recipe based on a light pastry crust filled with fresh ingredients like chicken, lamb, vegetables and Caribbean spices then cooked until the pastry is golden.
Jan Boots from Midlands Co-op said: "Island Delight Caribbean patties have proven extremely popular with customers across the country - and the Midlands in particular.

Island Delight patties are currently available with seven delicious fillings, including vegetable, chicken, beef, lamb, salt fish, halal chicken and halal lamb.
